The theme for The Heritage Trust Photography Competition this year is "lost" with disappearing buildings and skills/crafts being the subject. Some fantastic prizes are up for grabs and 12 images will be published in The Heritage Trust Calendar 2019. NOW ENDED This event will be run again in 2019.

An exciting opportunity new exists for a couple new Trustees to join our organisation and for them to be involved with the running of the Trust and our latest project, the Bretby Art Pottery Showroom. Ideally, you will possess skills that can help with our mission and also have experience of working within a charitable organisation.

HLF Grant Awarded

October 23, 2016

We are very pleased to share the great news that The Heritage Trust have received £10,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund East Midlands to help the organisation and its latest project to evolve. Led by volunteers from the local community The Heritage Trust will be focusing on strengthening and building the capacity of its core members to make it more resilient in its role as a local building preservation trust. The funding will also enable The Bretby Art Pottery Showroom project to be a success by funding further community consultation and feasibility work to support an appropriate use for the site.

Heritage Open Days

Join The Heritage Trust on the 10th & 11th of September and enjoy a rare glimpse of the inside The Bretby Art Pottery Showroom as part of Heritage Open Days. From 11am until 3pm we will be giving guided tours and give you the chance to view the archived material. You will also have the opportunity to find out what our plans are for the building and ways which you can help.

Having been left to fall into dereliction our latest project the Grade II Bretby Art Pottery Showroom is in need of urgent repairs to prevent the building from being lost forever. Bretby Art Pottery Showroom

May 15, 2016

We have now acquired the Bretby Art Pottery Showroom. Located in Woodville Derbyshire this exquisite building was used by the world famous  Bretby Art Pottery company to display their wares. Being left abandoned for more than 20 years the building now needs some urgent care and attention.

The Architectural Heritage Fund

January 05, 2016

Great news! We have just out that we have successful in our bid to gaining funding from the Architectural Heritage Fund for a Project Viability Study. This amount will be matched funded by kind donations from members of the Trust and allow a report to be compiled that investigates new uses for the Bretby Art Pottery Showroom and also the viability. 

New Project Found

November 17, 2016

This week we have been approached by South Derbyshire District Council to be asked if we can help to rescue the Bretby Art Pottery Showroom. Located in Woodville Derbyshire the building has been unused since the 1980s and in dire need of help. We are now talks with the current owner with regards the acquisition and we will be publishing further news if ownership can be successfully secured.
